The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) has announced the successful closure of a critical infrastructure project, with the completion of the repair of its 24-inch subsea gas transmission pipeline after four and a half years of protracted and inexplicable delays under the former administration.
On June 24th, 2021 NGC detected a leak on its 24-inch pipeline, which brings gas from Perenco TSP, EOG Osprey and Shell Dolphin to NGC’s New Abyssinia Accumulator Station (NAAS) at Beachfield, Guayaguayare. This 24-inch pipeline is located a few hundred feet from the Port of Galeota in approximately 10 feet water depth and, at the time of the leak, was transporting approximately 350 mmsfcd.
