NGC hosted a delegation of senior executives from PETRONAS of Malaysia, at its Orinoco House head office in Point Lisas, on November 6th, 2023. Petronas, founded in August 1974 (one year before NGC was fully incorporated), is Malaysia’s state-owned energy company. With a global vision, Petronas produces and delivers energy solutions and has a global presence in over 100 countries. With a passion for delivering and optimising clean energy solutions to empower sustainable societal growth, the delegation visited Trinidad and Tobago to engage in discussions with key energy stakeholders.
Much like NGC’s role as a state-owned company operating across the energy value chain, Petronas is an integrated energy company with interest in upstream exploration and production and petrochemical and LNG plants, including marketing and shipping. Malaysia maintains its position as the 5th largest LNG exporter in the world after Australia, the US, Quatar and Russia and Trinidad and Tobago follows in the 6th position. The country exports approximately 30 million tonnes (MT) of LNG per year.
