In 2017, NGC launched a project to spotlight local men and women whose lives and work helped better our society or brought honour to our country. This project became our Above and Beyond programme.
Across Trinidad and Tobago, many exemplary citizens are leading extraordinary lives of impact, uplifting our people and our nation through their work. Alpha Sennon is one of them.
Alpha is a young agricultural entrepreneur on a mission to change the narrative around farming, and feed our future. Alpha—the founder of the NGO WHYFarm (We Help Youth Farm)—is tackling declining interest in agriculture, using innovative and entertaining approaches to educate young people about sustainable agribusiness. NGC has named Alpha Sennon our ‘Above and Beyond’ honouree for 2023. We will be working alongside him to help his messages reach, teach, and inspire a generation to go forth and plant.
