In a demonstration of its unflagging commitment to transparency and alignment with global best practice, The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) has published its 6th annual Sustainability Report, covering the period January to December 2022. To date, NGC maintains its leadership role in sustainability reporting among local state enterprises.

Sustainability reporting is a mechanism which allows companies to voluntarily disclose details of the economic, social, governance and environmental impacts of their business, guided by an international reporting standard. More specifically, through this reporting framework, companies can track and communicate how their business affects or supports achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As with previous reports, NGC’s 2022 report includes statistics around the company’s key material impacts such as: economic impact; updates on contract renewals and other work along the energy value chain; metrics around the company’s safety performance, workforce and employee development; milestones achieved in the areas of governance and compliance; and contributions made through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) portfolio. NGC’s Green Agenda activities also feature prominently – the report discloses the company’s internal targets and initiatives that support climate action, the energy transition and national emissions reduction efforts.
