The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) has completed negotiations with Proman for the execution of Gas Sales Contracts for Caribbean Nitrogen Company Limited (CNC) and Nitrogen (2000) Unlimited (N2000). These GSCs were signed at NGC’s Head Office in Point Lisas on October 20th, 2023 by NGC President Mark Loquan and Jerome Dookie, Managing Director of CNC and N2000.

These GSCs – the outcome of many months of negotiation – are welcome news for Trinidad and Tobago’s petrochemical sector, as they will support production at critical ammonia facilities on the Point Lisas Industrial Estate (PLIE). CNC and N2000 own two anhydrous ammonia plants, and their operations help anchor Trinidad and Tobago’s world-scale ammonia industry.

NGC President Mark Loquan commented on the achievement: “Over the past few months, we at NGC have been working assiduously on several downstream contract negotiations. Today’s GSCs represent yet another successful outcome for our teams, our industry and our country. The fact that we have achieved this milestone signals the commitment of our companies to productive dialogue and engagement in pursuit of mutually agreeable contract terms, within the context of an evolving energy landscape. I thank all our teams for their diligence over the past months, and hope we can continue to build on this platform to strengthen our partnership and wider industry in the years ahead.”
